Our experts provide a range of services that assess the container performance of your solid and liquid dose products. USP <671> provides a series of test methods specific to the functionality and performance of containers and package systems used for solid and liquid dosage forms. Testing is specific to moisture transmission rate and spectral transmission (light resistance) for the container sample under test. Depending on the container type — plastic bottle with closure, blister card, single unit dose system — specific moisture transmission test procedures are performed. Certain transmission rate tests provide specific pass/fail specifications while other tests are designed to provide an informational dataset.
We perform the following test procedures:
- USP/NF Section <671> Spectral Transmission (Light Transmission)
- USP/NF Section <671> Container Permeation Testing – No Closure for PE & PP (Impervious Seal)
- USP/NF Section <671> Container Permeation Testing – With Closure, With Induction Seal
- USP/NF Section <671> Container Permeation Testing – With Closure, Without Induction Seal
- USP/NF Section <671> Container Permeation Testing – Liquid Product Container
- USP/NF Section <671> Unit Dose Method I Testing (Single Unit Container/Blister)
- USP/NF Section <671> Unit Dose Method II Testing (2 or More Cavity Blister)
- USP/NF Section <671> Barrier Protection – ASTM D7709-12 Test Method – Container
- USP/NF Section <671> Barrier Protection – ASTM D7709-12 Test Method – Blister Method One
- USP/NF Section <671> Barrier Protection – ASTM D7709-12 Test Method – Blister Method Two
